About

FSOUND was established in 2003 in Sacramento, California by Brian Frost after purchasing a small, 4 speaker PA from RUCKUS LAB www.ruckuslab.com to provide pro audio services for his dance events company, FOUNDATION (1999 - 2003). Seeing immediate short-term success providing sound at various local nightclubs in Sacramento, and being fueled with a genuine interest in pro audio, Brian sought to expand the business.

In 2004 employment opportunities arose and brought Brian / FSOUND to the San Francisco bay area.  Within a few months of operation it was clear that a larger PA and more staff was needed if FSOUND were to compete with other pro audio companies.  Naturally, Brian looked to long time friend and Ruckus Lab owner est.1996, Chris Van Duker, to combine inventories and work collectively in San Francisco under the name FSOUND ( 2005 ).

Over the next two years ( 2005 - 2006 ), a steady influx of all night dj warehouse parties, and nightclub reinforcement gigs allowed for significant equipment upgrades and purchases, as well as the addition of part time staff. Just two years after inception, FSOUND now boasted a 12 cabinet, 20,000 watt main rig and an 8 cabinet 10,000 watt secondary system.  Along with two lead engineers, and newly added audio assistant, ED SARNO.  Coming from a background in studio recording and djing, Ed fit in perfectly as FSOUND’s newest apprentice.

In 2006, now with a larger sound system and staff, FSOUND was able to bid on shows that were previously out of reach, putting FSOUND into another class of pro audio rental.  A steady stream of 1,500+ capacity all night raves quickly helped make FSOUND a household name as one of the most sought after dance sound systems in the bay area.

2007 proved to be no exception to the rule.  As the volume and scale of gigs increased, FSOUND responded by investing in eight COMMUNITY SLS-980 full range PA speaker cabinets to go with the existing eight DANLEY TH-115 touring subs. The addition noticeably increased both overall clarity and system power.  It’s main PA now at 16 cabinets / 26,000 watts, and it’s secondary PA at 10 cabinets / 15,000 watts.  More speakers, meant more work of course, and more work meant more staff needed. So in mid 2007, ETHAN JENKINS, long-time radio personality at KUSF 90.3FM was asked aboard as FSOUND’s newest apprentice.

As 2008 begins, FSOUND recognizes it’s humble beginnings, and continues to embrace diversity by growing beyond it’s original plan as a dance music pro audio company.  A newly acquired 32 / 8 large format SOUNDCRAFT console, SHURE UHF wireless mic’s, and a plethora of processing has allowed FSOUND to provide service for both private and corporate speaking events, in addition to live bands and djs.  Some of these events include the annual AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY’s Relay For Life www.relayforlife.org, CODE:PINK’s www.codepink.org fundraiser / awareness gala’s, and regular live-music nights at popular hotspotsTEMPLE NIGHTCLUB www.templesf.com and CLUB MIGHTY www.mighty119.com . Over the next few months, FSOUND will continue it’s thirst for expansion with the addition of yet another 4 DANLEY TH-115 touring subs and speaker flying system, allowing for larger, wider coverage… and ultimately larger crowds at FSOUND sponsored events.

Whether it be a public speaking event for 50 people, or a rock concert for 3,000, our goal as a company is to provide each client with the same professional, stress-free environment by means of experienced sales and technical staff, as well as leading technology in the field of pro audio.
